Laminar Flow Hoods
Sometimes referred to as a Clean Bench, Laminar Flow Hoods are designed to provide uniformed air velocity along parallel flows lines within a controlled work space. Laminar Flow Hoods provide a sterile working environment for product protection. They are not to be confused with Biological Safety Cabinets in that they deliver air across the work area and out into the room.
Testing of these cabinets is performed in accordance with IEST-RP-CC-002-3. Testing is performed when the Laminar Flow Hood is initially installed, annually and when the cabinet is relocated.
The tests performed are:
- HEPA filter integrity test
- Air flow readings across the work plane to ensure laminar flow
- Back streaming tests to ensure that non filtered air is not getting into the sterile work zone
- Replacement of prefilters if required.
HEPA Filter Services Inc will provide complete certification of Laminar Flow Hoods including a full certification report and certification sticker affixed to the cabinet.
All Laminar Flow Hoods we certify are tested in accordance with IEST-RP-CC-002-3 standards.
